About the job

Description

Do you make it your mission to design high-impact growth engines and turn raw channel potential into predictable revenue? Get a thrill from building and scaling net-new partner channels and seeing your work directly drive revenue? Interested in joining a team that is making a real difference to the success of small business owners? If so, we might have just the role for you.

FundThrough is looking for a strategic, results-driven, and entrepreneurial Director of Partnerships to report to the VP, Marketing, and join us on our mission to help business owners improve their cash flow by getting them paid ahead of long net terms. You’d own the full partnership lifecycle end-to-end, from sourcing, winning, and launching net-new partner channels, and driving revenue and funded volume from the partners we already have. This role is a build and scale mandate, not a maintenance role, that has a special emphasis on business development and maturing our existing partnership motion into a repeatable, mechanism-driven growth engine.

About The Company

FundThrough is a leading fintech company accelerating cash flow and enabling growth for small and medium-sized businesses that sell to large customers and wait to get paid. Based in Toronto and operating across North America, FundThrough’s AI-powered invoice funding platform gives B2B businesses fast, customized funding offers to get their invoices paid in a few days, rather than a few months, and get quick access to cash they’ve already earned.

Responsibilities

Source and launch new partner channels

  • Define ideal partner profiles through market sizing and opportunity assessments, and build a prioritized pipeline of net-new partners across strategic ecosystem categories, including AR/AP automation, embedded finance providers, B2B marketplaces, and referral/channel partners, with strong alignment to SMB-focused industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, retail, and professional services.
  • Lead end-to-end deal-making and business development, managing the full motion from handling inbound inquiries and conducting targeted outbound prospecting to developing partner-specific business cases, pitch materials, and market/revenue forecasts. Drive commercial structuring, revenue-share economics, and contract negotiation in partnership with legal and finance, while representing FundThrough with senior partner executives and at industry events.
  • Partner with Marketing to execute joint go-to-market strategies, co-marketing campaigns, and enablement programs that actively drive partner-sourced pipeline, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
  • Partner cross-functionally across product, engineering, sales, marketing, credit/risk, operations, and finance to scope and launch embedded-finance integrations, ensuring a clean experience that smoothly converts partner activity into funded volume.

Grow revenue from existing partners

  • Own a joint business plan for each material partner, establishing shared targets, a regular operating cadence, and clear accountability on both sides.
  • Drive partner activation, adoption, and enablement by aligning on sales motions, joint GTM campaigns, and product experiences that position FundThrough within key customer workflows to generate qualified opportunities.
  • Manage revenue-share and referral economics with strict margin discipline, ensuring that expansions in partner volume do not erode unit economics.
  • Identify and address friction points across the partner lifecycle from onboarding to funded deals by standing up the operating system for partnerships (including attribution and deal-registration discipline, a partner pipeline and forecast, a reporting cadence to leadership, and repeatable playbooks for growing partners) and using leading indicators and performance metrics to proactively improve partner productivity.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in partnerships, business development, or channel/alliances, including experience building or materially scaling a partner motion (not only maintaining one).
  • A track record of owning a revenue or funded-volume number through partners, with deals you sourced, negotiated, and grew, utilizing strong commercial negotiation skills and the ability to build senior relationships.
  • Fluency in partnership economics: revenue share, referral fees, co-sell, and the discipline to protect margin while growing volume.
  • Experience with integration-driven or embedded partnerships, and comfort working with marketing, product, and engineering to launch them.
  • Discipline with CRM, attribution, and pipeline data; you manage partnerships like a forecastable revenue line.
  • Clear, direct communicator who works well cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, credit/risk, and finance.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to leave your mark on a growing startup
  • An incredibly diverse team of brilliant minds from all over the world
  • Competitive compensation, including stock options
  • Health benefits/benefits stipend for US
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Flexible work-from-home policy
  • A fully stocked kitchen (for any in office days), birthday treats, and a lunch of your choice every week (one of our values is Fun & Food!)

Salary Range

For Canada: 140,000-180,000 CAD base salary and OTE.

For US: $100k to $140k USD base salary and OTE.

This ranges are based on relevant skills, experience, and internal equity.

Some Notes On Our Hiring Process

Our Use of AI: We utilize AI tools to help keep our recruitment process moving smoothly, but we maintain a strict “human-in-the-loop” philosophy across our entire hiring lifecycle. Because we believe technology should enhance human connection rather than replace it, automated systems will never make the final call.

Role Status: This posting is for an existing open vacancy.

Background Verification: Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the work we do, clearing a criminal record check is a condition of employment.

Accessibility & Inclusion: FundThrough encourages applications from candidates with differing abilities. Please let us know if you require accommodation at any stage in the selection process.

About the job

About The Company

FundThrough is a B2B fintech company that helps small businesses get paid faster through invoice factoring. This is a freelance role with a strategic layer: 6–8 content pieces per month (blog posts and landing pages), plus the keyword roadmap, technical GEO setup, and performance tracking that make those pieces matter. You’re not just executing briefs, you’re helping diagnose drop-offs and prioritize what to build. AI tools are expected and welcomed here. The bar is: would a CEO, CFO or controller at a $10M+ company find this useful, or would they close the tab?

Responsibilities

Strategy (~15% of engagement)

  • Build and maintain a rolling 90-day keyword and content roadmap prioritized by search volume, competition, business relevance, and funnel stage
  • Conduct keyword gap analysis against top organic competitors to identify uncovered high-opportunity topics
  • Balance the content mix across three content types: informational blog posts, transactional landing pages, and link-earning assets
  • Audit existing posts quarterly and flag candidates for refresh, consolidation, redirect, or retirement
  • Track GEO/AEO coverage: identify topic clusters lacking structured, LLM-citable content and recommend what to build
  • Bring a point of view to monthly planning: what to write, in what order, and why

Execution (~80% of engagement)

  • Write 6–8 SEO and GEO-optimized pieces per month across three content types (see below)
  • Own brief development: keyword targeting, search intent analysis, outline, and source direction
  • Integrate primary and secondary keywords naturally: no stuffing, no awkward placements
  • Structure all content for LLM extractability: self-contained H2/H3 sections, FAQ-style headings, lead-with-the-answer formatting
  • Source and link to high-authority, recent external data (gov reports, industry research, academic sources)
  • Weave in 3–5 internal links per post from existing site pages
  • Deliver clean, revision-ready drafts in Google Docs on agreed timelines

Requirements

  • Proven track record writing SEO content that ranks with shared URLs
  • Experience diagnosing traffic drops and recovery, you’ve done this before and can show what happened
  • Demonstrated ability to write both informational and transactional content for the same domain
  • Working knowledge of GEO/AEO: llms.txt, FAQ schema, speakable markup, and structured content for AI citation
  • Fluency with AI writing tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) and the editorial judgment to know when the output is good and when it’s generic
  • Strong source research skills: you find primary data, not blog roundups
  • Comfort pulling performance data from GSC, Ahrefs, or Semrush and drawing real conclusions from it
  • Ability to produce 6–8 pieces/month without quality slipping in month 3

Strong Assets

  • Experience writing for fintech, B2B SaaS, or small business audiences
  • Familiarity with invoice factoring, accounts receivable, or business financing concepts
  • Experience building link-earning content that actually earned links (show evidence)
  • Background in technical SEO, enough to identify on-page and structural issues, not just write around them

A Note

What “AI-Forward” Means at FundThrough

We’re not asking you to avoid AI, we’re asking you to use it well.

That Means

  • Use AI for research, outlining, keyword clustering, and first-draft acceleration
  • Apply editorial judgment to eliminate generic phrasing, AI tells (em dashes, “delve,” “navigate”), and hollow structure
  • Know how to prompt for content structure that LLMs can parse and cite
  • Understand the difference between content that ranks today and content that gets cited in AI-generated answers
  • Use AI tools to analyze performance patterns and diagnose ranking issues
